1.In what ways have you experienced distress or hardship in 2024? How did you deal with that hardship? Where was God in that hardship?

2. Hope is the belief that someone will come to relieve our distress. Describe a time where you felt real hope.

3. Read Isaiah 9:6-7. We get four names for the Messiah. What do each of these names say about the character of God: • Wonderful Counselor • Mighty God • Everlasting Father • Prince of Peace

4. Read John 14:1-6. What is the purpose of the first advent of Jesus? What will be the purpose of the second advent of Jesus?

5. What does it mean that Jesus has called us to endure in this life through hardship? How do we ensure well with HOPE and not DESPAIR.

6. What does it look like to go after one another to relieve our distress and minister the hope of Jesus to one another? • How do we have the awareness to do this for others. • How do we let others in so they can do it for us?
